Go to sleep, Sleeper.
A slew of changes are coming to Destiny 2: Forsaken this month, including a welcome nerf to Sleeper Simulant in Gambit, a tweak to the Malfeasance quest, and de facto nerfs to Edge Transit drop rates.
Bungie detailed the 2.0.4 and 2.0.5 updates, which are currently planned for Oct. 16 and Oct. 30, and will include changes to Gambit mode, boosted spawn rates for the Ascendant Primeval Servitor, weapon damage tweaks, and more.
A full breakdown of the coming updates is available on Bungie.net.
The Festival of the Lost is making a return Oct. 16, and details are scheduled to be revealed next week.
Scout rifle damage is being increased against PVE enemies in the 2.0.4 update, Lost Sectors will have their names added to the map, and players will be able to track up to three pursuits.
Three Year 1 weapons, including Through Fire and Flood, Zenobia D, and Crooked Fang-4fr will be added to the Legendary power weapon pool, so players probably won’t see quite so many Edge Transit drops after the update.
In the Oct. 30 2.0.5 update, a Gambit-specific nerf to Sleeper Simulant will mean players only get two shots per ammo crate (down from the current four shots). Sword-users will receive 12 ammo per ammo crate (up from 6) after the update.
Another nerf to Sleeper, which will tweak the weapon’s tracking, is also incoming, but was not listed among this month’s changes.
The Ascendant Primeval Servitor will have its spawn rates increased in 2.0.5, making it easier for players to obtain the new exotic hand cannon, Malfeasance. Due to the change, ship and Sparrow drop rates are also being adjusted, and cosmetic items are no longer guaranteed to drop on subsequent kills.
The Oct. 30 update will also slightly increase damage for fusion rifles and swords, rebalance Distribution and Dynamo perks, help reduce redundant exotic drops, and increase the viability of Malfeasance in PVE and Gambit.
Bungie also teased further changes to Gambit bounties, the frequency of Gambit rewards, and more, as well as “more tricks” the dev team has up its sleeves to keep Guardians engaged in the future.
